BRV-7: Structure Fundamentals

Course Overview

Prerequisite: A general understanding of design, engineering and construction terminology typically used in a Structural Engineering Office when developing schematic design, design development, construction documentation, and performing construction contract administration.

This course includes concepts and principles of creating 3D parametric models of structural systems from engineering design through construction documentation. This training is intended to introduce students to the software’s user interface and the basic structural components that make the Autodesk Revit Structure software a powerful and flexible engineering modeling tool. The objective is to familiarize students with the tools necessary to create, document, and plot the parametric model. The examples and practices are designed to take you through the basics of a full structural project, including linking to a Revit Architecture model, from conceptual design through completion of construction documents.
