BNV-1: NavisWorks Manage

Course Overview

Prerequisites: A working knowledge of 3D design and task-scheduling software. This training is tailored for new and experienced Autodesk NavisWorks users who need to become familiar with the main tools within the software.

Learn how to combine 3D geometry from multiple disciplines into one 3D model. Learn how to open, review, quantify, and run object-interference checks on 3D models and learn how to link the model to task-scheduling files and 4D construction simulations, as well as how to create interactive animations, using Animator and Scripter, and photorealistic images and animations.

Learn to use all of the NavisWorks Manage TimeLiner, Animator, Scripter, Quantification, Rendering, and Clash Detective tools to facilitate:

  • Opening and appending multiple 3D file types and formats.
  • Saving the combined NavisWorks model in the Autodesk NavisWorks file format.
  • Creating links to object property files and scheduling files in external databases.
  • Performing visual project model reviews using built-in review and reporting tools.
  • Creating project model construction simulations to validate construction schedules.
  • Using Animator and Scripter to create interactive animations for presentations and demonstrations.
  • Obtaining takeoff data from source models to create material estimates, measure areas, and count components.
  • Performing interference detection tests between 3D files of different disciplines to check integrity of the design.
  • Add true-to-life materials, lighting and backgrounds to project models, to create photorealistic output.
